How does Liftware Level work?
Liftware Level controls the angle of a utensil, such as a spoon, for people with unintended muscular movements that make it difficult to enjoy a meal.
The Level handle contains sensors that detect hand motion, and a small onboard computer that distinguishes motions that would tip or tilt the utensil too much. To counteract any unintended motion, the onboard computer directs two motors in the handle to keep the utensil at the optimal angle for eating.
Is Liftware Level right for me?
People who can move a utensil from the plate to their mouth, but have difficulty controlling the angle of a spoon may find Liftware Level helps with eating. This may include people with hand and arm mobility issues due to cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, Huntington's disease, or post-stroke deficits.
The amount of benefit will vary depending on factors that affect the intensity of a person’s motion and control at any given moment. These factors may include the use of medications, amount of sleep, degree of stress, intensity of exercise, etc.
Is Liftware Level safe to use?
The leveling handle and utensil attachments contain small magnets similar in strength to ordinary household magnets. If you have a cardiac pacemaker or other implantable medical electronic device, follow your device’s directions for use regarding magnets. The standard recommendation is to keep your implantable device at least 6 inches from Level because it contains small magnets. If you have concerns about your implantable device, consult your healthcare provider.
There are no other known risks associated with the use of Liftware Level.

How do I hold the handle?
Slide your hand into the strap on the handle and adjust it to fit your hand. The handle is designed so that you can hold it in a variety of positions. Feel free to experiment with your grip to find the most comfortable position.
Please make sure, however, that you don’t grip the movable attachment (e.g. the spoon or the fork) or the gray flexible joint, since that should be allowed to move freely to keep the device level.

What foods work well with Liftware?
Liftware Level should not be used as a scoop for dense foods (e.g., frozen ice cream), or to cut foods.
